S E C O N D A N N O U N C E M E N T Few-Body Problem: Theory and Computer Simulations A Workshop in celebration of the 60th Birthday of Professor Mauri Valtonen July 4 - 9, 2005 University of Turku Finland Dear colleague, This is the 2nd announcement for the meeting 擢ew-Body Problem: Theory and Computer Simulationsin celebration of the 60th birthday of Professor Mauri Valtonen, to be held July 4 9, 2005, at the University of Turku in Finland. Mauri Valtonen has made seminal contributions to the fields as diverse as celestial mechanics, few body systems, solar system dynamics, galaxy cluster dynamics, missing mass and supermassive black holes among others. The meeting will address such topics as the few-body problem in celestial mechanics, the theory of few-body escape, multiple stars in computer simulations versus observations, few-body dynamics in planetary systems, the nature of chaos in the few-body problem and the relations between few and many-body dynamics. The invited reviewers are Sverre Aarseth, Joanna Anosova, Douglas Heggie, Kimmo Innanen, Seppo Mikkola, William Saslaw and Mauri Valtonen. The meeting is to be held in Turku, the ancient capital of Finland. Set on the Aura river and adjoining the world's most beautiful archipelago, Turku is a bustling town noted for its Universities and emphasis on education and technologies. The meeting is close to the summer solstice, at the time of the "light nights", when the sky grows hardly dark. The preliminary program and list of currently registered participants, as well as other important information about the meeting can be found at http://www.astro.utu.fi/tuorla/new/FewBody2005.shtml The conference fee is 150 euros for participants and 75 euros for accompanying persons. The fee includes the costs of conference materials, lunch on three days, coffee-breaks, conference dinner and the excursion. Late registrations will be accepted after June 1st, 2005 (190 euros for participants, and 95 euros for accompanying persons). Payments can be made using following particulars: Account name: FEW-BODY PROBLEM THEORY AND COMPUTING Account address : C/O Tuorla Obs, Vaisalantie 20, FI-21500, Piikkio, Finland Bank adress : Tasalanaukio 3, Raisio, FI-21200, Finland Account number : 800025-17489562 IBAN : FI3980002517489562 BIC (SWIFT) code : PSPBFIHH Specify your name in the text mesage field, please, and indicate that it is the registration fee for the Workshop. The deadline for sending abstracts (optimally, about half a page in TeX/LaTeX format) is May 20th, 2005. Abstracts can be submitted via the meeting website, or via e-mail to feb2005@it.utu.fi Accommodation is available at the Hotel Centro, in the center of Turku, and is about 20 minutes walk from the conference site at the city campus of the University of Turku. The Hotel痴 website is http://personal.inet.fi/yritys/centrohotel/index_enkku.html Bookings are best made directly via e-mail at centro@centrohotel.com Please send information about the time of your visit, the room type you壇 like to have and the number of visitors and the hotel administration will deal with you directly. Information about the city of Turku and useful links are available at the conference website. Looking forward to meeting you in Turku! Cordially yours, Aleksandr Myllari and Chris Flynn
